watching you care less

is hard.

i completely understand the natural

change of seasons.

we pick up

different commitments,

invest in relationships more

and leave some to

rest.

or in some cases,

your change of romantic feelings toward me

creates distance 

between us. 

this part is hard,

when it's not mutual.

last time

i didn't see it coming.

but yesterday,

i mourned for the friendships.

the friendships where we dance

in a matrix of missed phone calls

and texts without a reply.

i get it, 

you're busy.

but you have to understand,

if i am no longer a priority to you,

yet you expect me to be 

available for you

you will not longer be a priority

to me.

even though it pains me,

i will make the decision

to let

you

go.
